I headed up today to see how the snow was looking and it was raining at 8000 ft. Not cool. I ditched the sled and decided to do some old fashioned skinning. The light was horrible, the snow was wet and sometimes had a nice rain freeze layer on it, and the wind was blowing a million miles a hour.... but it was still better then skiing at a resort. If anyone is reading this and wants to experience some of the best skiing in the world accessed by sleds let me know!
This picture doesn't do it justice, the road up to my favorite spot is dirt and hangs on the side of some very steep mountains. This is the view off the side of the road down a 800 foot drop. Awesome.
